Current Music Favs-March 2019

Recently, I have been reading less and listening to music more, so I thought I will share some of my favorite songs/albums here:

  1. Thank U, Next Album by Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande has done it again. After the “sweetener” album which was wonderful, she released a new album called “Thank u, next” within a span of a few months. And it didn’t disappoint. There are plenty of fun songs in this album. My favorite song is “Break up with your girlfriend, I am bored” and I loved the music video of the song as well.

  1. Infections of a Different Kind by Aurora

I love Aurora, a Norwegian singer who became famous after her songs such as “Runaway” and “Running with the wolves” became viral and were also part of her debut album “All My Demons Greeting Me As a Friend”. Her new album “Infections Of a Different Kind” is enjoyable as well. My personal favorites are “Queendom” and “It Happened Quiet”.
  1. A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships by 1975

I discovered 1975 through their hit song “Somebody Else”. Their new album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships is a bop as well. The songs in the album range from a party song like “Tootimetootime” to a mellow song like “Sincerity Is Scary”.
  1. Call Me By Your Name OST

No! I didn’t discover the heavenly songs of Call Me By Your Name recently, (which would have been a travesty) but I listened to the two wonderful songs “Mystery of Love” and “Visions of Gideon” sung by one of my fave singers Sufjan Stevens again and again as I watched the movie for the first time this month. The movie is a cinematic masterpiece for sure and the plot is great as well. Now all that is left for me is to read the book.
  1. Why Am I Like This? By Orla Gartland

Love Orla Gartland, love her new single as well.
  1. Human by Dodie Clark

Dodie Clark is a lovely singer and the collection of songs in her newly released EP is just beautiful. Go give it a listen. You won’t be disappointed.
  1. Treasure by Sampha

I have heard of both Timothee Chalamet and Steve Carell’s marvelous acting in the movie and am hoping the movie won’t break my heart as much as the song “Treasure ” did. Listening to it just makes me tear up, don’t ask me why.
  1. Bad Ideas by Tessa Violet

Bad Ideas is a completely fun single released by Tessa Violet.
  1. Sucker Punch by Sigrid

I just discovered Sigrid, who is another Norwegian singer recently and oh my god! I love her songs “sucker punch” and “Don’t Feel Like Crying” from her newly-released EP “Sucker Punch” so much. Do go give it a listen.

10. Dressed Too Nice For A Jacket by Maisie Peters

I discovered Maisie Peters through Dodie and Tessa Violet. She has a sweet voice and her songs are soothing and melodious.
